Whether you’re a fitness newbie or an experienced gym goer, a coach can be a tremendous asset to ensure you achieve your fitness goals. The right weight loss or fitness coach can help you improve your eating habits, lose weight, pack on muscle or whatever else you desire.

However, to get all these benefits, choosing the right coach is essential. 

So how can I, as a weight loss coach and personal trainer in Inverness, help you?


1) Improved Fitness Levels

One of the main benefits of hiring a coach is that they can help you improve your fitness levels.

Whether you want to become a better runner, increase your strength levels or develop a sport specific skill, the right personal trainer will have the knowledge to help you get to exactly where you want to be at the fastest possible rate.

But that doesn't mean all coaches should be all things to all people.

I work with clients who have a desire and a preference for bodyweight training. Most of my clients are older bodies, or people who want to develop a good level of strength over body weight, improve and maintain their fitness, mobility, agility, balance, coordination and core control.

Gym bunnies and bodybuilders need not apply!

A good coach should be very knowledgeable when it comes to weight loss.

They should be able to tell you which exercises you should do and work with you to determine exactly what you should be eating in order to lose a certain amount of weight each week. 

But if you're looking for a quick fix or a restrictive diet you might want to look elsewhere.

I have a very strong focus on healthy eating and building habits that last a lifetime. Habits that will bring you achievable and sustainable weight loss.

And, while the only way to lose weight is through calorie control, just like skinning the proverbial cat, there are many ways to manipulate calories in vs calories out and we'll find what works for you.

Self discipline and motivation are required for weight loss, but there's no need to give up everything you love to reach your goals.

I'll work with you to help you lose weight in a healthy way and burn body fat while maintaining your muscle mass and actually enjoying life!


3) Accountability

If you train alone, lack of accountability can be detrimental to your fitness goals.

For example, if you wake up for your training session when it’s raining outside and you’re tired, it’s very easy to roll over and go back to sleep. However, if you know that there’s someone checking on your progress and holding you accountable if you skip a training session, you’re much more likely to go and workout. 

The accountability from having a coach makes you much more consistent with your workouts and helps you stick to them, and I'll always be there between sessions to keep you on track with both exercise and eating habits.


4) Motivation

A good fitness coach won’t just make you workout more through accountability, they’ll actually make you want to workout more by motivating you.

If you see exercise as a ‘necessary evil’ in order to achieve your fitness goals, I’ll be there to help change your mindset, make you feel good about exercising and make you want to do more of it.

Exercise is a privilege not everyone is fortunate enough to have, so we should always honour our bodies by using them to their full potential.

5) Personalised Health & Fitness Advice

Another key benefit of hiring me as your weight loss coach is the personalised advice that comes as part of the package. 

As people, we are all individual and certain programs that work for others may not work for you. We'll look at your strengths and weaknesses and come up with a program that is designed specifically for you and gets you the best results.

Whether you're working around a particular injury or need a stretching routine to get you back to moving freely again, we'll find what works for you.

6) Efficient Workouts

Many people don’t workout as efficiently as they should and waste time when they’re training. For example, if you do already exercise, you might be taking too long breaks between sets, stopping to write text messages or getting distracted and this might explain your lack of results.

I will be able to monitor your workouts, identify these inefficiencies and then pull you up on them, so that you get the maximum benefit out of the time you spend in your training. Firstly, with me, but more importantly when you go and train on your own.


7) Safe Workouts

As well as being inefficient when they’re working out, many people (particularly those who are new to the world of fitness) make mistakes which could lead to serious injuries.

For example, you may bend your back while lifting or lift weights that are too heavy with bad form and not even realise it.

We don't, as a rule, lift heavy weights in my training sessions, but you will learn and practice good technique in all the major movement patterns of your body like squatting, lunging, pushing, pulling, lifting, reaching, turning, twisting, bending, crawling and more...

8) Improved Fitness Knowledge

A good coach won’t just put you through your paces, they’ll also help you learn at the same time.

This means you won’t just benefit from my fitness knowledge when I'm with you but you’ll learn how and why we do everything we do, so you are better able to formulate more efficient and effective workouts when I'm not there.

And just like riding a bike, once you know how, you should always be able to get in a great workout wherever you are and maintain your fitness for life.


9) Workout Anywhere

One final benefit of a good bodyweight and calisthenics program is that you have the flexibility to workout wherever you want. If you like exercising at the gym, you can always find space to get in a workout or mix it up with your weight training.

Alternatively, if you prefer to workout at home, whether or not you have equipment, you'll be set for life. You can arrange outdoor workouts at the park, when you're away on holiday or during your lunch break at work.

With a good bodyweight training program location is never a limit and I will teach you how to always make the most of the time and space you have available.
